  In 2370, the U.S.S. Hear left DS3 on a routine courier mission. Shortly after its departure, the Hear disappeared without a trace. DS3 was commanded by Admiral Marcus Holt at this time. TNG Interface.

  Archaeologist Richard Galen hoped to gain passage at DS4 on an Al-Leyan transport to Caere as part of his quest to learn about the first humanoids to live in our galaxy. TNG The Chase.

  In an alternate quantum reality visited by Worf in 2370, DS5 was the object of covert surveillance by the Cardassians, who had reprogrammed the Argus Array to observe the starbase, as well as other Federation installations. TNG Parallels. The staff of DS5 informed Starfleet Command about the destruction of the Federation colony on Ivor Prime by the Borg in 2373. Star Trek: First Contact.

Deep Space 5 was a re-use of the Regula 1 space station model originally seen in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Name from dialogue.

  In 2369, the Enterprise visited Station Deep Space 9 to assist in the reconstruction of the Bajoran aqueduct systems, damaged during the Cardassian occupation. TNG Birthright, Part 1. VOY Caretaker. DS9. TNG Firstborn. TNG Preemptive Strike.

  This base is the nearest Starfleet facility to the Kaleb sector. Sub-Commander N'Vek attempted to take the Romulan warbird Khazara there in 2369 as part of a plan for the defection of Romulan Vice-Proconsul M'ret to the Federation. TNG Face of the Enemy. TNG Gambit, Part 1 & 2.
