operations of the station were automated, although a two-person crew
provided for non-routine operations and maintenance. A network of such
stations throughout Federation space permits interstellar communication
between distant points with much shorter time lags than unboosted subspace
radio transmissions would require. Lt. Aquiel Uhnari, assigned to RS 47 in
2369, was investigated for the murder of her crew mate, Keith Rocha, but
