Warbirds of the D'deridex-class were the most powerful ships in the Romulan
fleet during the '60s and early '70s of the 24th century. They were
significantly larger than a Galaxy-class starship.
The D'deridex-class warbird was designed by Andrew Probert.
The
first
mention of the term "D'deridex-class" was in the TNG
episode "Tin Man".

by the Enterprise-D and "Captain" Riker during a virtual reality engineered
by Barash on Alpha Onias III in 2367. In this fantasy, the Decius
transported Admiral Picard, Counsellor Troi, and Ambassador Tomalak to a

This Romulan Warbird was under the command of
Admiral Mendak in 2367. It met the Enterprise-D inside the Romulan Neutral Zone, ostensibly to transfer Federation Ambassador T'Pel aboard the Devoras
for treaty negotiations. In actuality, T'Pel was a Romulan agent named
Sub-Commander Selok, and the transfer was her means of escape into Romulan
