The
Aeon is a Federation timeship from the 29th century under the
command of Captain Braxton. The Aeon made a forced landing on Earth in the
year 1967, where it was captured by Earth native Henry Starling, and became
a source of significant timeline contamination. The U.S.S. Voyager helped to
restore the original timeline. The Aeon was equipped with subatomic
disruptor weapons. VOY Future's End, Part 1 & 2.
Named after the Greek word
for "age" or "lifetime". Name from dialogue.

mythological figure who was commander of the Greek forces during the Trojan

Apollo-class vessel with the registry number NCC-11638.

2293, the Ahwahnee was on a deep space exploration mission.
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country.
Named after a Native American nation. According to Bjo
Trimble's Concordance, the Ahwahnee appeared on a computer display. Judging
by the registry number, the ship could be an Excelsior-class vessel.

Ahwahnee was one of the 40 Federation ships that fought against the Borg in
the Battle of Wolf 359. It was the only ship that survived the battle.

Zweller's first assignment after his graduation from Starfleet Academy.

an experimental warp drive upgrade on the Ajax, although it was later
discovered that Kosinski's theories were baseless. TNG Where No Man Has

In
2368, the Akagi served as part of the tachyon detection grid to blockade
Romulan ships supplying the Duras family forces in the Klingon civil war.
TNG Redemption, Part 2. In 2374, the ship was part of the 9th
Fleet headquartered at starbase Deep Space 9. Around stardate 51247.5,
the Akagi submitted a resupply request to DS9. DS9 You Are Cordially
Invited. After a battle against the Dominion in 2374, the Akagi
reported 20 crewmembers MIA and 1 crewmember KIA. DS9 In the Pale
Moonlight.
Named after the Japanese
carrier that fought against the American warship U.S.S. Hornet in the Battle
of Midway in World War II. Ron Moore thought it fitting that in Star Trek's
future, the Akagi would be serving alongside the Hornet. Name from
dialogue. NCC from a
computer display (DS9 Companion, Nemesis). The ST Encyclopedia
speculates that the Akagi is a Rigel-class vessel.

Kathryn Janeway met Tom Paris for the first time, she told him that she had
served with his father, Owen Paris, aboard the Al-Batani as Science Officer

Named after Abu Abdallah
Muhammad Ibn Jabir Ibn Sinan al-Batani al-Harrani (858-929), who was one of
the greatest astronomists of Islam.

vessel with the registry number NCC-42995.

In
2368, the wreckage of the Alka-Selsior was stored at the Starfleet surplus
depot in orbit around planet Qualor II. TNG Unification, Part 2.
The ship's name is obiously an in-joke which refers to
the drug Alka-Seltzer. The Alka-Selsior was one of five Excelsior study
models designed by Bill George for Star Trek III: The Search for Spock. Name and NCC

studio model (Mighty
Monkey of Mim).

The Ambassador-class ship was designed by Andrew Probert
and Rick Sternbach. The model, built by Greg Jein, was intended to
suggest an intermediate step between the Excelsior-class and the
Galaxy-class starships.
The first mention
of the Ambassador-class was in the TNG episode "Conspiracy". The ST Encyclopedia speculates that the Ambassador's registry number is NCC-10521.

|
This Federation science vessel, under the command of Captain Thomas Ramart, rescued
Charles Evans from planet Tharsus in 2266. The ship was destroyed when
Evans caused a baffle plate on their energy pile to vanish. TOS Charlie X.
Named after the brightest star
(as seen from Earth) in the constellation Scorpius.
TNG writer/consultant Naren Shankar suggested that the Bajoran cargo vessel
in the TNG episode "Ensign Ro" be designated as Antares-class ship, a tip of the hat to
the TOS episode "Charlie X".
Name from
dialogue. The ST Encyclopedia speculates that the Antares's
registry number is NCC-501.

Named after the Greek good
of light, Apollo, as well as for the spacecraft that first carried humans to
the moon.
The first mention of the Apollo-class was on a
computer display in the
Enterprise-D's observation lounge.

The Appalachia was among the ships defending
Sector 001 against the Borg incursion of 2373. Star Trek: First Contact.
Named after a great highland
system of eastern North America.
The ship's designer, Alex Jaeger, named the class after the song
"Streamrunner" of his favourite band Fold Zandura. The "r" was somehow
dropped in a spelling error and the ship's class was approved as Steamrunner.

In 2379, the Archer was part
of battle group Omega. The battle group was ordered to convene in Sector
1045 to stop the Reman warbird Scimitar. Star Trek: Nemesis.

Jonathan Archer, first commanding officer of the Earth starship Enterprise NX-01. Name and NCC from a
computer display.
Judging by the registry number, the ship could be an Excelsior-class vessel.

The Archon was an early Federation starship that disappeared at
planet Beta III in the year 2167. The ship was pulled from orbit by a
planetary computer system called Landru. The surviving crew members were
absorbed into Beta III society, becoming known as the Archons. TOS Return

dialogue. The ST Encyclopedia speculates that the Archon was a Daedalus-class vessel with the
registry number NCC-189.

this ship in 2365. The ship's first officer in 2365 was Commander

In 2368, the Aries
served as part of the tachyon detection grid to blockade Romulan ships supplying the Duras family forces in the Klingon civil war. TNG Redemption,
Part 2. In 2369, Will Riker told his
duplicate, Thomas Riker, that he turned down the chance to command the
Aries. TNG Second Chances. The Aries, under the command of Capt. M.
George, visited planet Lilliput IX in 2370. Her next stay was at station
Deep Space 9 on stardate 47568.2. DS9 Whispers.
In 2379, the Aries was part of battle
group Omega. The battle group was ordered to convene in Sector 1045 to stop
the Reman warbird Scimitar. Star Trek: Nemesis.
Named after
the constellation (the Ram) of the same name, as well as for the moon
landing shuttle from the motion picture "2001: A Space Odyssey".
The name was misspelled "AIRES" on
the computer display in Star Trek: Nemesis. Name from

The Armstrong was ambushed by a Klingon battle
group in 2373 and took heavy casualties. After the battle, the Armstrong

Named after Apollo 11
astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first human to set foot on Earth's moon. Name
from dialogue. The ST Encyclopedia speculates that the Armstrong is a
Challenger-class vessel with the registry number NCC-57537.
