  U.S.S. Lakota NCC-42768

Excelsior-class

 
  The Lakota transported Captain Sisko and Security Officer Odo to Earth in 2372. DS9 Homefront. Captain Erika Benteen later assumed command of the Lakota. Under orders from her mentor, Admiral Leyton, Benteen, commanding the Lakota, tried to prevent the Starship Defiant from reaching Earth with evidence that Leyton was planning a military coup of Earth's government. The Lakota and Defiant met in battle, resulting in over two dozen casualties. DS9 Paradise Lost.

Named after the Native American nation, as well as for an impressive peak in South Dakota near the city of Hermosa. The Lakota was a re-use of the modified Excelsior-class Enterprise-B model used in Star Trek: Generations. Name from dialogue. NCC from studio model.  Class visually identified.

 

 

  U.S.S. Lalo    
  The Lalo was a freighter that reported a "hiccup" in time that was found to be a result of Dr. Paul Manheim's time/gravity experiments at Vandor IV in 2364. TNG We'll Always Have Paris. The Lalo was lost in late 2366 after apparently encountering a Borg ship near Zeta Alpha II. TNG The Best of Both Worlds, Part 1.

Name from dialogue. The ST Encyclopedia speculates that the Lalo is a Mediterranean-class vessel with the registry number NCC-43837.

 

 

  U.S.S. Lantree NCC-1837

Miranda-class

 
  In 2293, the Lantree carried colony supplies in Sector 22858. Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. The Lantree was a class-6 supply ship with a normal crew complement of 26. The ship was equipped with class-3 defensive armaments. The Lantree's crew was killed in 2365 after being exposed to a group of genetically engineered human children whose immune systems actively sought out and attacked potential sources of disease, including the Lantree crew. Captain L. Isao Telaka commanded the vessel at this time. The Lantree was destroyed by a single photon torpedo fired by the Enterprise-D in order to prevent further transmission of the deadly antibodies. TNG Unnatural Selection.

The Lantree was a minor modification of the Reliant model originally built for Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. The Reliant's upper roll bar was removed to turn it into the Lantree. The Lantree bridge was a re-dress of the Enterprise-D battle bridge. Name from dialogue. NCC from studio model (The Continuing Mission, Guardian of Forever). Class visually identified.

 

 

  U.S.S. LaSalle    
  LaSalle personnel reported the presence of a series of radiation anomalies in the Gamma Arigulon System in 2367. TNG Reunion.

Name from dialogue. The ST Encyclopedia speculates that the LaSalle is a Deneva-class vessel with the registry number NCC-6203.

 

 

  U.S.S. Leeds NCC-70352

  The Leeds is the Nebula in the opening of DS9. Name and NCC from studio model (Starshipmodeler). Class visually identified.  

 

  U.S.S. Lexington

Constitution-class

 
  Lt. Watley transferred from the Lexington to the Enterprise just prior to stardate 4513.3. DS9 Trials and Tribble-ations. In 2268, the Lexington, under the command of Commodore Robert Wesley, participated in the disastrous tests of the M-5 computer. During those tests, the multitronic unit malfunctioned and fired hull phasers at the Lexington, killing 53 people on that ship, as well as the entire crew of the Starship Excalibur. TOS The Ultimate Computer.

Named after the Battle of Lexington, a skirmish between British regulars and American provincials, marking the beginning of the U.S. War of Independence, as well as for the famed U.S. aircraft carrier that fought in the Pacific theatre during World War II. Name from dialogue. Class visually identified. According to the Starfleet Technical Manual, the Lexington's registry number is NCC-1703.

 

 

  U.S.S. Lexington

Nebula-class

 
  The Lexington rendezvoused with the Enterprise-D and transferred medical supplies to them for delivery to the Taranko colony. TNG Thine Own Self. Dr. Elizabeth Lense was the chief medical officer on the Lexington. In 2371, the Lexington docked at station DS9. DS9 Explorers. The Lexington was among the ships defending Sector 001 against the Borg incursion of 2373. Star Trek: First Contact.

Name from dialogue. Class visually identified. The ST Encyclopedia speculates that the Lexington's registry number is NCC-61832.

 

 

  U.S.S. Liberator NCC-67016    
  The Liberator was one of the 39 Federation ships destroyed by the Borg during the Battle of Wolf 359 in 2367. TNG The Best of Both Worlds, Part 2.

Name and NCC from the Liberator's shuttle (The Art of Star Trek). Judging by the registry number, the ship could be a Nebula-class vessel

 

 

  U.S.S. Livingston    
  Benjamin Sisko and Curzon Dax once served together aboard the Livingston. DS9 Invasive Procedures.

Named after the American statesman Robert R. Livingston (1746-1813), a signer of the Declaration of Independence, as well as for Star Trek producer-director David Livingston. Name from dialogue. The ST Encyclopedia speculates that the Livingston is an Excelsior-class vessel with the registry number NCC-34099.
