  U.S.S. Zapata NCC-33184
The Enterprise-D was scheduled to meet the Zapata following the mission to the Gamma Eridani Nebula in 2366. TNG Ménage à Troi. After a battle against the Dominion in 2374, the Zapata reported 17 crewmembers KIA (including the captain, a clone of Leslie Wong), 3 crewmembers MIA, and 1 crewmember WIA. DS9 In the Pale Moonlight.

Named after Emiliano Zapata, Mexican revolutionary, who fought in guerrilla actions during and after the Mexican Revolution (1911-1917). Name from dialogue. NCC from a computer display (Nemesis, DS9 companion). The ST Encyclopedia speculates that the Zapata is a Surak-class vessel.

  U.S.S. Zhukov NCC-26136

Ambassador-class

The Zhukov, under the command of Captain Gleason, was Reginald Barclay's assignment prior to his being transferred to the Enterprise-D in 2366. TNG Hollow Pursuits. The starship met the Enterprise-D again in 2367 for the transfer of Federation ambassador T'Pel. TNG Data's Day. The Zhukov transferred several science teams to the Enterprise-D in preparation for the Enterprise-D's mission at the Phoenix Cluster in 2368. TNG The Game.

Named after Russian general Grigori Konstantinovich Zhukov (1896-1974). A pre-production idea (Capt Sharpe) for a computer display says that the Zhukov's registry number is NCC-62136. The studio model (EAS) was also labelled NCC-62136 by mistake and the name was misspelled "Zuhkov". Name from dialogue. NCC and class from a computer display (Captain's Chair).
